n(n-1)/2 is obsolete !

The PMBOK says that 90% of the project manager’s time goes into communication, and these days the options to communicate are multiple (multiple channels between two nodes). I can communicate to you through email, blog, telephone, postal services, web conferencing etc. Hence the reality is much more complex than the conventional n(n-1)/2 communication channels where n=team size, because each team member can communicate with another team member through multiple channels, which complicates things further :-). Just thinking loud…  Now it has to be n(n-1)*#1n 🙂
